PRP Hair Restoration
PRP & Micro-Needling for Hair Restoration
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) comes from blood, and contains an abundance of growth factors, which are essential to growing and maintaining a healthy head of hair. PRP Hair Restoration benefits can include:
- Less hair loss.
- Thicker, fuller hair.
- Renewed hair growth.
Micro-Needling uses small needles to create tiny holes in the surface of the skin. This process jump starts the skin’s natural healing ability, and stimulates the hair follicles.
The Hair Restoration Power of Combined Treatments
Combining PRP and Micro-Needling harnesses the maximum healing benefits of the natural growth factors. At The Skin Care Center at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery, we use the Harvest® Platelet Concentrate System that delivers a higher platelet concentration than 12 other systems. For Micro-Needling, we use the industry leading Rejuvapen for maximum control and comfort during treatment.
Your Natural Growth Factors with FDA-Approved Laser Therapy
Male and female pattern baldness are genetic. But, if you are experiencing mild to moderate hair loss, there are options to help re-grow your hair. Platelet Rich Plasma Hair Restoration at The Skin Care Center at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery is a safe, non-surgical treatment for thicker, fuller hair, and renewed hair growth.
We start by drawing 30-60 CCs of the patient’s blood. Then, while our Harvest® Platelet Concentrate System
isolates the PRP, we apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment areas.
Step 1 PRP Injections
A portion of the PRP is injected into the scalp, just under the surface of the skin.
Step 2 Micro-Needling Treatment
A Micro-Needling treatment is done to the areas injected with PRP.
For the best results, we recommend a total of four PRP Hair Restoration treatments, between four and six weeks apart.
While individual results can vary (and cannot be guaranteed), most patients will begin to see less hair loss 4-18 weeks after treatment.
Thicker, fuller hair ill be noticed in 18-26 weeks.
Renewing hair growth starts in 26 to 52 weeks.
To ensure the maximum benefit of a PRP Hair Restoration treatment, we recommend the following at-home care:
Theradome Pro Laser Helmet
We suggest that all patients use the Theradome Pro Laser Helmet. In clinical trials, this FDA-approved device has shown to reverse hair loss. By using this device at home for about 20 minutes, twice a week, patients can expect to see a slowing down of hair loss, increased hair follicle size in existing hair, and new growth of healthy hair.
Medications & Serums
There are a number of medications and serums that we may recommend to improve the hair restoration results. We will discuss these medication and serum options and provide recommendations during the initial consultation.
