This patient underwent breast reconstruction surgery with Dr. Leveque. The patient previously underwent a left breast mastectomy with radiation to the breast following surgery. Due to the radiation on the left breast, breast reconstruction using the latissimus dorsi flap technique was used to reconstruct the left breast while a tissue expander was placed in the right breast. This tissue expander was filled gradually over time and was later replaced with a shaped silicone breast implant. Both implants placed were Mentor shaped silicone gel implants. Moderate projection implants were placed in two sizes to create approximate symmetry and proportion between the breasts: a size 390cc implant was placed on the left and 440cc on the right. Fat transfer from the patient’s abdomen to both breasts was done at the final surgery to add further upper pole volume (or cleavage) to the breasts.
