Lasers are like miracle workers of skincare.  Lasers are versatile and can treat a wide range of skin conditions.  Laser treatments a relatively affordable, and their effectiveness make them the go-to technology in skincare.

Today’s lasers are vastly superior to those used decades ago.  Many modern lasers can reach the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production without damaging the skin’s surface layer.

There are a variety of different types of lasers that all help with varying skin issues:

Anti-Aging –  A fractional laser (sometimes called Fraxel) is the gold-standard treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, and textural irregularities. This one-time treatment provides dramatic results with fast recovery and minimal downtime.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) – Intense Pulsed Light or IPL is not technically a laser. Instead, it uses light energy to target pigment and other skin issues without damaging the skin’s surface. Sun-damaged skin is dramatically improved.  It works wonders on acne scars and rosacea.  It also enhances the tone and texture of the skin.

Skin Resurfacing – Fractional lasers get their name because the laser energy is broken into thousands of tiny beams that treat only a fraction of the skin in the area.  This reduces downtime and dramatically reduces the risk of hypopigmentation and other complications associated with older laser treatments.  Ablative and non-ablative are the two types of fractional lasers available.  They are used to treat various age-related skin issues, including deep acne scars, wrinkles, and stretch marks.

IPL Hair Removal – The IPL Hair Reduction procedure beams highly concentrated pulses of light into hair follicles. The follicle pigment absorbs the light energy, which destroys the hair follicle and leaves the surrounding skin undamaged.  The number of treatments varies, but it usually takes about five treatments, spaced about five weeks apart, to see the best results.  A yearly “touch-up” treatment might be necessary to maintain a completely hair-free result.

Tattoo Removal – PicoSure™ is the world’s first picosecond laser FDA cleared for the effective and safe removal of unwanted tattoos. PicoSure’s Pressurewave technology completely shatters the underlying ink into microscopic particles without injury to the surrounding skin. The tiny particles are effortlessly absorbed and eliminated by the body. What this means is better overall removal of the tattoo, fewer treatments overall, faster recovery times, and excellent results
