Has anyone asked why you’re mad when you’re not mad? Or the dreaded “You look tired,” even when you have had a great night’s sleep?  When the brows begin to droop, it can make a person look mad, sad, or tired even though they are feeling. While looking in the mirror, take a finger and gently push upward on your forehead, right at your hairline.  If your brows lift to a more pleasing position,  you may benefit from a brow lift

A brow lift can refresh and rejuvenate the upper portion of the face, improving vision, the appearance of aging, and confidence. During a brow lift, the incisions are minimal and have minimal downtime.

Benefits of a brow lift

A brow lift is a highly beneficial procedure that can reduce wrinkles and lines in the forehead and raise the brows.  A brow lift also opens the eyes, giving them a brighter, more vibrant appearance. A brow lift may be performed on its own or in conjunction with other rejuvenating procedures. Frequently it is performed in conjunction with a blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift, or with a facelift

A brow lift is usually performed endoscopically or using a hairline incision.  Coronal brow lifts are very rarely performed today.

An endoscopic browlift uses a series of tiny incisions hidden in the hairline to reposition the brow.  An endoscopic brow lift offers rapid recovery and minimal downtime. If patients have a high or receding hairline, a plastic surgeon may opt to use a hairline incision, with care taken to hide it in the hairline as well.

In addition to improving the position of the brows, a brow lift can also reduce wrinkles on the bridge of the nose, horizontal lines on the forehead, and vertical creases between the eyebrows.

The best candidates for a brow lift are patients who feel their eyes are droopy, have changed, or are causing vision problems. Most commonly, this type of facial aging becomes prominent after age 40, although heredity, weight gain and loss, and sun exposure can accelerate sagging and brow wrinkling.

If you wonder if this procedure will give you the results you are hoping for, schedule a personal consultation with one of our award-winning, board-certified plastic surgeons at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery, Drs. Peter Butler, Jocelyn Leveque, and Nathan Patterson.
