Newest Trends in Injectables

Published on January 3, 2020

With every new year, there are new trends when it comes to use of injectables. With 2020 just around the corner, it’s an ideal time to explore the trends on the horizon.

In the past, treatments like this were seen as taboo, but now people are embracing their beauty secrets and sharing them with the world. People of all ages are turning to Botox and dermal fillers like Juvéderm to perfect their features. In 2019, there was a significant change in the consumer base for these products. Patients seeking products like Botox and Juvederm became younger, seeing injectables as a preventative treatment. In addition to anti-aging, these products are becoming more popular for other uses.

Dermal Fillers for Acne Scars
Dermal fillers are one of the most popular injectables for added volume where it has been lost, plumping lips, cheeks and other parts of the face, but dermal fillers are also becoming increasingly popular to treat acne scars. They can help reduce the appearance of pitted acne scars by injecting the filler below the scar. This not only breaks up the scar tissue but also plumps the skin surrounding it to push the scar back out.

Jawline Enhancement
In 2020, we expect to see more and more women using Botox and dermal fillers to create a perfect jawline. For women who have very prominent or overly square jawline, Botox can be injected at the back of the jaw, near the ear, to reduce the muscle projection, softening and narrowing the jaw’s appearance. For those looking for a more defined jawline, dermal fillers can be used to give a person’s profile more prominence.

Fuller vs. Natural Lips
When it comes to the lips, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. While most patients request a natural fullness in their lips, social media trends and influencers are pushing patients to seek out a more artificial appearance. While large lips aren’t always ideal for everyone’s face frame, a skilled injector can find the right balance to please the patient without going overboard with fillers.

Liquid Nose Job
Filler nose jobs have seen a huge spike in demand recently. This type of non-surgical nose job is done in the office with relatively no down time and is perfect for hiding minor asymmetries and bumps and even making the nose look narrower by adding filler to the bridge.
