People come in all shapes and sizes, which is a wonderful thing. However, if you also wanted a particular part of your body to be a bit fuller or a little more flat, plastic surgery might be the answer.

Some women naturally have smaller builds and may want a shapelier figure. In some cases, the effects of pregnancy on the body can be impossible to correct through diet and exercise alone. People that have lost a significant amount of weight may experience sagging skin and droopiness in certain areas. No matter the reason, at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery we can help you obtain a figure youā€™ll love. Here are the most common procedures used to sculpt and contour the body:

Breast Augmentation ā€“ Through a breast augmentation, you can create a significant change to the upper contours of the body. Breast implants come a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Whether you want to add fullness at the top breast, enhanced cleavage, or have a more projection, your plastic surgeon will help you choose the implant that will give you the look you want. Breast augmentations are the most common cosmetic surgery performed in the United States today and when performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon, they are very safe with a low risk of complications. Typically, the patient goes home the same day of surgery and should take it easy for the first few weeks following surgery.

Liposuction ā€“ Liposuction is an excellent way to contour the body. Liposuction can be used to shape and contour many parts of the body, including the abdomen, back, thighs, arms and neck. Often, liposuction will be used in combination with a tummy tuck to give the midsection a flat tummy and a defined waistline. In some cases, liposuction can be performed in the office. Patients looking to enhance their shape should only consider real, surgical liposuction because it allows the plastic surgeon to sculpt the body. The recovery can vary based on the location of the procedure and the extent of the lipo. Patients can expect to experience some soreness, bruising and swelling in the days following the procedure.

Tummy Tuck ā€“ A tummy tuck is another very common surgery that gives the body a significant change in contour. During a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, the excess fat and skin in the lower abdomen is removed, tightening the remaining skin on the belly. In a large number of these procedures, tightening of the abdominal wall muscles is also performed. Tummy tucks are done in both men and women. Patients usually go home the same day, and need to plan on 2-3 weeks of limited activity.

Brazilian Butt Lift ā€“ A Brazilian butt lift is the new comer to the group, but has quickly become one of the most talked about cosmetic surgeries. During a BBL, fat is removed from other areas of the body, such as the abdomen or back, by liposuction. The fat is then concentrated and transferred into the buttock and hips, to give the backside a more voluminous shape. This surgery is performed in the hospital and the patient typically goes home the same day. The fat transferred to the buttocks is permanent will expand if a patient gains weight, just like fat in any other part of the body
