This patient underwent breast reconstruction immediately following double mastectomy by her general surgeon. The patient’s left breast underwent previous radiation therapy; therefore, a latissimus dorsi flap procedure along with silicone implant placement was done to reconstruct the breast. A tissue expander was placed in the right breast and was filled gradually over time until it matched the approximate size of the left breast. When the patient was happy with her breast size, the tissue expander was removed in surgery and replaced with a silicone gel breast implant. A 304cc implant was placed in the left breast and a 371cc implant was placed in the right breast to create symmetry and proportion between the breasts.
