Avéli Cellulite Treatment
Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery is proud to offer Avéli cellulite reduction treatments in Pensacola. Avéli is a one-time treatment to address cellulite dimples in the buttocks and thighs, the innovative process produces results that emerge in real-time during the procedure. Avéli’s non-surgical method provides long-lasting and genuine improvement, by working below the skin surface to address the root-cause of cellulite dimples.
What Is the Cause of Cellulite Dimples?
The appearance of cellulite dimples results from bands of fibrous and connective tissues, called septa that form just under the skin surface and extend into deeper layers of skin tissue. Eventually the bands become tight and unevenly pull the skin surface inward creating a dimpled texture and untoned appearance.
The exact or primary cause that triggers the development of cellulite is unknown, but genetics, hormonal changes almost certainly play a role. Eating habits and other lifestyle factors that lead to an increase in fat cell storage even among patients whose weight is proportionate to their body type is also suspected.
How Does Avéli Work?
The precise targeting technology of Avéli is a key element in the effectiveness yet minimally invasive nature of the treatment. Once the wand is inserted just below the skin’s surface, the changing color of an infrared light at the mechanized tip enables the practitioner to accurately visualize the location of the tip and confirm that no bands remain tethered before moving to the next spot.
Who Are the Candidates for Avéli?
The ideal candidates for Avéli should be in good general health and have visible cellulite dimples on the buttocks and thighs. Avéli is not for weight loss treatment and candidates should be at a stabilized weight that is at or near their target weight. Avéli is conveniently performed in one of our office treatment suites with patients receiving a local anesthetic administered to the treatment area, the procedure only takes an hour to 90 minutes to complete.
What to Expect During Avéli
What to Expect After Avéli
Patients are encouraged to plan for 24-48 hours of downtime to limit activity following an Avéli procedure. Patients who briefly delay the return to a full schedule of physical activities or strenuous exercise help to minimize the occurrence of mild bruising, swelling and sensitivity. Most patients find that swelling and soreness are well managed with over-the-counter-medication and brief applications of a wrapped ice pack.
