Voluma Pensacola

Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injections including Restylane®, Juvederm® &Voluma® are the 2nd most common non-surgical cosmetic procedure performed in the United States. In 2013, there were nearly 2 million injections with HA fillers.*

Hyaluronic acid is an important structural building material that is naturally present throughout our bodies. Hyaluronic acid is being made and degraded throughout your body while you are reading this webpage. This is why hyaluronic acid is an excellent material for adding volume to the the face. Because HA is constantly being produced and degraded by your body, injected HA will also eventually be degraded and is therefore considered a temporary filler. For more permanent results,“fat transfer” or fat grafting may be a better solution.

Voluma XC® is a higher-viscosity HA filler designed for deeper placement to volumize larger areas. Drs. Butler & Leveque useVoluma XC® for “malar” or “cheek” augmentation.

If you have a history of cold sores, your plastic surgeon will place you on prophylactic Valtrex® a few days prior to having any injections around your mouth. This will help prevent cold sore (Herpes simplex) eruptions after filler injections.

Dr. Patterson, Dr. Butler, and Dr. Leveque perform HA filler injections in the office and the injections take less than an hour to perform. Results last anywhere from 4-12 months with most people being satisfied with the result for 9-12 months. Some patients may experience swelling, bruising and mild redness after filler injection so it is a good idea to schedule filler injections at least a week before any major events.
